Designed to work with your Middle School curriculum, the program includes a series of 17 lessons for mastering standards 9 lessons on informational text 8 lessons on literary text Starter activity where teacher defines the skill either through a text description or a discussion 4-paragraph text written for each lesson; designed to be short, making it possible to do both a “close reading” of the text and a deep analysis together in one class period.

Students build their knowledge of the standard by citing textual evidence and recording responses in the graphic organizer included. Then, students apply and practice the concepts learned in the lessons as they read their existing classroom text.
